What they needed
Players didn't know how to take the next step in their sport, and clubs were finding talent by hand. iMatch Sport saw a market for a platform that connected the two, and needed it to work for everyone from a school leaver looking for a first club to a professional club filling a position.
What we built
Before writing code, we ran market validation and workshops with iMatch to shape the business model and the experience, and only then built the platform: a responsive web app. Players create a free profile. Clubs sign in and search by region, level of play and position, see the players as cards, post open positions on tiered pricing, and manage their engagements from the same place.
What changed
More than 1,000 players and clubs registered and more than 500 engagements followed in the first few months, with around 95% positive feedback from users. Clubs search rather than scout by hand, and a player's next step starts with a profile.
Where it goes next
Ongoing. We keep building the platform with iMatch as it grows across New Zealand.
