What they needed
Polynesia is rich in culture and hospitality, but a traveller who wants a local stay rather than a resort struggles to find one. Before Holinesian had a name, its founder had that gap in mind: a platform connecting hosts and travellers across Tahiti and the islands, so a visitor could live like a local and a host could reach them.
What we built
The name, a Pacific brand identity, and the booking platform behind it. Guests search by island, dates and guests, browse properties and the experiences nearby (cultural events, aquatic adventures, fish markets and island tours) and request to book in one flow. A property page shows the photos, the host, the amenities, guest ratings and the price per night. Google Maps integration filters by location across multiple islands. On the other side, hosts and service providers sign in to list and manage their own places and experiences, with help pages for both.
What changed
Within three months of launch the platform had more than 25 properties listed, more than 100 bookings, and five service providers signed up. A traveller anywhere in the world could book a Polynesian stay with a local, which is what the founder set out to make possible.
Where it goes next
Our part ran from 2017 to 2018.
